I’m still alive…

Contrary to what my [lack of] blogging might indicate, I am still alive and kicking. And snapping photos, and traveling, and editing, and *cough* buying a house *cough*, and being a good wife, and a good fur mom.

Anyway, this is mostly just to apologize for lack of posting, and to promise big things coming your way VERY soon. Stay tuned, my babies.

Meet Bencesca!

Sometimes I forget how fortunate I am to have a job that a) is an actual job – which is a pretty big deal these days – and b) is a job that I absolutely adore. I get to meet amazing people, visit amazing places, and build amazing relationships. What could be better?

I was reminded of how AWESOME this job is when I met Ben and Francesca. They’re the kind of couple who you instantly feel like you’ve known forever, even after just a cup of coffee with them. It did help that, when Fran emailed me to set up a meeting, she included a list of little facts about them… such as describing their two families as a “Meet the Fockers”-esque combination. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to work with a families like that!?

We worked together to come up with some great ideas for their engagement shoot… and wait til you see the location we were able to get access to. A helicopter pad, NBD. And Ben is a police officer, so it was only appropriate to throw in some bullets for a little 007-type action.

We started out at the park for a few shots with their sweet pup, Bailey!

Then we headed downtown for some fun at King Plow. Aren’t they precious??

And, ummmm….how adorable are they?

I know.

Then we hopped on over to Ventana’s and rocked their helicopter pad for a little while.

Then we moved down to the balcony for some cuddle time:)Don’t you just love cuddle time?

And I’m a tad obsessed with these next ones. I know this post is heavy on the B&W side, but I can’t resist.

And to end on a slightly awesome note, here are the more than slightly BA ring shots.

P.S. – high fives to Ben, not only for the bullets but also for one BEAUTIFUL ring.

Bencesca, I am so unbelievably excited about shooting your wedding in November, and am so glad to have met you both! Here’s to a b-e-a-utiful friendship. You. Are. Awesome.

Joe + Alexia : Engaged!

So, a while back I posted a preview of Joe & Alexia’s Brooklyn engagement shoot, and I wanted to wait to give a full recap so Brooklyn Bride could do their own feature (which was awesome, by the way). But now I get to share  my favorites with you!

Baby Bennett’s One-Month Sesh!

So, if you know me at all, you know that I hold all things cuddly and cute very high on my “things I love/can’t get enough of/squeal-tastic” list. Therefore, when I get the chance to photograph said bundles of cuteness, I jump on that train immediately. It should come as no surprise, then, that when Robyn & David asked me to snap some 1-month old shots of their sweet little Bennett, I squealed a little. Without further ado, I present to you one of the most precious little darlings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing:

Bennett.

We had to get some wardrobe changes on in celebration of his big day:)

Ohhhhhh man.

…but seriously.

What a sweet (and gorgeous!) little family.

I love this shot…even though he’s getting sleepy and a little fussy…

Even the family pup got in on the photo action!

(and just because this one makes me lol EVERY time I see it…a puppy yawn)

Aaaand he’s down for the count.

Robyn, David, and Bennett…thanks so much for allowing my camera and I to have a visit in your home! It was an absolute pleasure:)

Joe & Alexia: An Engagement Preview!

Well, hey there 2011! You snuck up on me. I can’t believe 2010 is over already…it was such a great year, personally and professionally.

I had such fantastic sessions with amazing, beautiful, wonderful people…between weddings, engagements, headshots, family portraits…I have been so incredibly blessed. And I’ve got loads more to show you this year! I’ll be shooting weddings from Tybee Island, up to Tennessee, and all the way to Illinois. I can’t wait to get started:)

But first, I want to spend the next few posts recapping some of the wonderful goodness that I was lucky enough to capture over the holidays.

So, without further ado…I give you [a preview of ] Joe & Alexia.

Can’t wait to show you more of these lovebirds…we shot their Engagements over two days in Brooklyn, New York. They are not only two of our dearest friends, but they happen to be a couple of the best lookin’ subjects I could ever hope to photograph. Their love has spanned crazy distance [Joe in Atlanta, Alexia in Kentucky...then Joe hiking the Appalachian Trail last year while Alexia moved to NYC], and now they’re getting married! I’m so excited to have the privilege to shoot their wedding in Tennessee this September [9.10.11....how awesome is that?!]

Joe & Alexia, I love you guys. Can’t wait to see you again!

xoxo
